Offering public apology

I would like to issue a public apology to the poor young lady with whom my sister and I had an unexpected encounter on Friday evening. Your grace under the pressure of the situation and my unfortunate remarks about it was truly remarkable. I hope both you and your pup were not hurt. Unfortunately, we have these encounters with dogs that are not leashed and we’re the ones who get yelled at and taken to task, so I thank you for your understanding and hope you will accept our sincere apology.
