Jim King

Jim King was born in Kalispell Oct. 11, 1934 and died at home in Whitefish after a brief bout with cancer on Aug. 20, 2016.

Jim graduated from Whitefish High School in 1951 and served in the Army for two years. Then he studied for two years at Montana State College and later graduated from Gonzaga University in 1964. Jim was best known for his big smile for one and all, his gentleness, his patience with everyone and his great faith in the Lord Jesus. He and his wife served as volunteers in the finance department of Wycliffe Bible translators for 11 years while living in the United States and also Indonesia, Philippines and Nairobi, Kenya. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca and his four children, Tary King, Anne Regh, Aric King and Cortni King and their spouses, Anita, Jeff Regh and Kate, and fiance Mark Harant; eight grandchildren, Justin King, Jeremy King, Ryan Brubaker, Jordan Thomas, Joshua King, Jesse King, Mackenzie Oliver and Skylar Sinz and their spouses, Erica Brubaker, Tremaine Thomas and Aaron Oliver. He is also survived by two great-granddaughters Browynn and Elena Thomas.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at Calvary Chapel in Whitefish at 3 p.m.
