Monday, Aug. 15

10:17 a.m. Vehicle cited for improper parking on E. 4th St.

10:43 a.m. Vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed on W 3rd St. in an effort to avoid construction work.

10:49 a.m. A bucket and shovel were left in a room at a hotel on Highway 93 S.

1:09 p.m. A building on Baker Ave. was spray painted.

2:02 p.m. A vehicle on Waverly Place was rear-ended while the owner was out of town.

2:52 p.m. A wallet containing cash, credit cards, insurance cards and flight information was stolen on Baker Ave.

3:15 p.m. A transient was camped out on a bench on Central Ave.

5:42 p.m. A grocery store on Highway 93 S reported the theft of $230 worth of groceries.

6:26 p.m. Two dogs were in a vehicle at a Wisconsin Ave. parking lot.

10:37 p.m. Transients were hanging out on Central Ave.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

4:04 a.m. A bear could be heard snorting outside a window on Wisconsin Ave.

10:20 a.m. An officer was requested on Flathead Ave. for a family issue regarding possession of a vehicle.

Noon A witness reported possible animal cruelty on E 1st St after hearing a woman yelling at and threatening to beat a small, white fluffy dog.

2:07 p.m. A restaurant on E. Lakeshore Dr. called to say an older man came in and requested an officer saying that his vehicle broke down.

3:16 p.m. A dog was left in a car on Highway 93 S.

5:11 p.m. There was a dent in a car door that appeared to come from the vehicle parked next to it at a business on E. 13th Street. When confronted the driver of the other vehicle became violent and threatening.

6:03 p.m. A driver on Central Avenue locked their keys in their car with it running while their two dogs were inside.

6:50 p.m. A man wearing tinted aviator glasses was in the middle of the bike path on E Lakeshore Drive and looked disheveled.

11:05 p.m. Reporting party on Spokane Ave. was concerned about a man with an illness refusing to come home.

11:42 p.m. Employees at a business on Central Ave. reported suspicious kids in the alley.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

1:37-1:58 p.m. Officers placed tags on garbage cans on Dakota Ave., Karrow Ave. and W 2nd St. after the cans were left out violating the city ordinance that says trash cans must be secured of not taken to the curb before 4 a.m. and must be taken in by 7 p.m. the same day as trash pickup.

3:57 a.m. Bear-like noises were heard on a hillside on Wisconsin Ave.

4:57 a.m. Two people appeared to be going through a vehicle on Columbia Ave.

8:41 a.m. A man who checked into a hotel was acting suspicious and may have used a stolen credit card.

9:06 a.m. A man who was hearing voices asked to be taken to the hospital.

1:36 p.m. Reports of an unwelcome dog coming onto a property on Ashar Ave.

4:40 p.m. Shoplifters were reported at a store on Central Ave.

5:47 p.m. A man was trying to get a cab to go to the hospital because he was hitchhiking and the guy that picked him up “smoked him a bowl of some crazy weed.”

6:45 p.m. A transient had been sleeping for three hours at a location on Iowa Ave and the reporting party wanted the person to move along.

9:58 p.m. A man in the alley of a Central Ave. business was talking to himself.

Thursday, Aug. 18

12:41 a.m. A dog on W 6th St had been barking all evening.

10:57 a.m. Theft of a wallet was reported on Baker Ave.

1:46 p.m. A transient hanging around the Whitefish River on East First St.

6:54 p.m. A woman said her boyfriend threw all her belongings outside on E. 2nd St.

10:11 p.m. A dog on a deck on Woodland Place was barking.

Friday, Aug. 19

1:02 a.m. Two men in a Central Ave. bar were being asked to leave after trying to start verbal fights with other people in the bar.

1:30 a.m. A man on Highway 93 South fell down and got up again and then began walking before laying up against a light pole.

Saturday, Aug. 20

7:46 a.m. A dog on Waverly Place had been parking and howling since 4 a.m.

1:19 p.m. Keys were left in the door of a Spokane Ave. business.

4:47 p.m. A dump truck lost its breaks and crashed into a house on Suncrest Dr. Everyone in the house was OK.
