What's the plan for Social Security?

| August 9, 2016 4:18 PM

Debate after debate, all I hear from some of the candidates are vague proposals on how to make Social Security financially sound.

Americans pay into Social Security year after year, and we deserve to know how the candidates would keep it strong for us, our kids and grandkids. Social Security is critical to my retirement right now, but it will be even more important to future generations. If our leaders don’t act, future retirees could lose up to $10,000 a year in benefits.

That’s why I’m volunteering on AARP’s Take a Stand campaign to urge every candidate for President and Congress to lay out their plan to update Social Security. We deserve to know where the candidates stand on this important issue before we decide who to vote for. Candidates: what’s your plan for the future of Social Security?
