Keith Regier is a trustworthy work horse
As majority leader during the last legislative session, Rep. Keith Regier was the work horse for the House.
He had 31 bills drafted at the beginning of the session and introduced 15. The other 16 were not needed during the session. He personally carried 11 of the bills. Other legislators carried the other four.
Eight of the bills Regier carried passed the House and Senate, but two were vetoed by the Governor. Republicans held the line on increased spending, but could not get their two tax-reduction bills through.
Regier is running for Senate District 3 which is the west valley area from Kalispell to beyond Whitefish. He has great potential to continue his leadership in the Senate because of his work ethic and experience. He was on the House Judiciary committee all four sessions in the House and chaired the Federal Relations, Energy and Telecommunications Committee during his third term.
With his leadership experience, Regier will most likely be vice chair or chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee or be on the powerful Finance and Claims Committee with Senator Mark Blasdel and Senator Bob Keenan who achieved Vice Chair of that committee during his first term. Regier’s second committee may be Energy and Telecommunications since he chaired that committee in the House and his third committee may be State Administration presently chaired by Sen. Dee Brown.
Regier has a servant’s heart. I saw that when I visited his classroom when he was a teacher in Evergreen, when he delivered sod for my lawn as a businessman, when he was elected House majority leader and when he successfully carried my Senate bills in the House.
He has my support in the primary and general elections.
