Chris Park put on a show for the packed Homecoming crowd Friday night at Memorial Field.

The senior play-maker scored two touchdowns, rushed for 94 yards, picked off a pass and delivered a few big hits to lead Whitefish (3-1) in a 47-0 romp over Stevensville.

“I just go out and have fun,” Park said after the game. “I like to feed off the other guys.”

Park blocked a punt and returned it 11 yards for the Dogs’ first score of the night.

“I got the edge so I knew I could get in there,” he said. “I got a hand up and blocked it.”

He followed that moments later with a 68-yard touchdown run on Whitefish’s first offensive play of the night.

The Dogs led 27-0 at the end of the first quarter. Brian FauntLeRoy brought down a 24-yard TD pass from Luke May, then May scampered for a short TD run.

Junior Brady Staves found the end zone on an 8-yard run in the second quarter.

Tyler Cote had a big night for the Dogs. The junior returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown and capped the scoring with a 35-yard jaunt to the end zone.

A running mercy clock in the second half kept the scoring in check.

Whitefish had 300 yards rushing total on the night.

“The line played great tonight,” Park said. “We knew there was a bunch of hype around it being Homecoming, but we stayed focused as a team and came out and played a great game all around.”

Senior Chaffin Ross was impressed with the Dogs defensive effort in holding the Yellowjackets to just 127 yards of total offense.

“I think our defense is really solid,” Ross said. “The team tackling is great. We’re flying around and hitting people. It’s a lot of fun.”
