Monday, Sept. 7
9:46 a.m. Possible bear activity was reported on East 2nd Street. A trash bin was knocked over.
5:29 p.m. Report of an intoxicated man screaming and getting violent with a woman at a home on Cedar Street. Police took the man back to his home on Wisconsin Avenue, but he later returned and threatened to kick everyone’s butt. Police then arrested the man.
Tuesday, Sept. 8
11:48 a.m. An air compressor and other tools were stolen from a job site on Bitterroot Court.
2:56 p.m. Two dogs killed a small deer near West 8th Street.
5:22 p.m. Report of a black bear on East Lakeshore Drive.
5:31 p.m. Oxycontin was reported stolen from a pharmacy on U.S. 93 South.
6:38 p.m. Report of a stolen trombone at the high school.
Wednesday, Sept. 9
7:56 a.m. A deer jumped off the footbridge over the river.
11:54 a.m. Report of a woman listening in on private conversations at the hospital.
12:15 p.m. A woman was very upset about a train crossing being blocked for 10 minutes. She told police the train needs to move, which it did a few moments later.
1:54 p.m. Garbage bins were overflowing on Nature Trail. The reporting party was concerned about bears.
4:02 p.m. Report of a sexual assault on Wisconsin Avenue.
6:34 p.m. A driver hit a pole on West 9th Street. He later returned to pick up car parts that were left behind.
Thursday, Sept. 10
2:47 a.m. A big black bear was seen walking along West 6th Street.
12:16 p.m. A caller reported seeing “rest in peace” posts on her friend’s Facebook page. She wanted to know what happened. Police investigated and found the friend was OK.
2:36 p.m. Items were stolen from an unlocked pickup on Wisconsin Avenue.
Friday, Sept. 11
2:56 a.m. Report of a suspicious man sitting next to an ice machine on U.S. 93 South. He had a bucket with a light on it.
6:27 a.m. A man was hiding beneath a food truck parked in an alley behind Baker Avenue.
11:39 a.m. Report of a burglary on West 7th Street.
1:32 p.m. A bear and a cub were spotted on Karrow Avenue.
1:42 p.m. Report of an older man wearing Spandex doing yoga on East 7th Street.
2:54 p.m. Report of a belligerent man towing a drift bike on Iron Horse Drive.
3:19 p.m. A vehicle was keyed on Mill Avenue.
7:56 p.m. A man claimed another man slapped him in the face during an argument at the lake over boating rules.
Saturday, Sept. 12
1:16 a.m. A man said he and his five friends were beat up by a group of Canadians downtown. He said it happens every year.
8:42 a.m. A transient camped at Depot Park was asked to move along.
6:59 p.m. Two intoxicated men wrecked a golf cart at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. They were arguing about paying for the damage.
8:29 p.m. Report of a moped racing on the high school track.
Sunday, Sept. 13
1:11 a.m. Kids were trying to use fake IDs downtown.
8:26 a.m. Report of a vehicle break-in on Birch Hill Drive.
9:30 a.m. Woman said her daughter confessed to stealing items out of vehicles. She turned the property over to police.
10:12 a.m. A GPS and owners manual were stolen from a vehicle on Glenwood Road.
10:22 a.m. A credit card was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Ridge Crest Drive.
1:20 p.m. A box of Tic-tacs was stolen from a vehicle on Birch Hill Drive.
1:59 p.m. Report of a vehicle break-in on Barkley Lane.
2:25 p.m. Report of sewage bubbling up on Baker Avenue. The smell was horrible.
2:33 p.m. Prescription drugs were stolen from a vehicle on Colorado Avenue.
2:48 p.m. A bear and a cub were climbing a tree on Scott Avenue.
3:17 p.m. A bear was up a tree on Geddes Avenue.
3:50 p.m. Five grocery bags were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Glenwood Road.
