Whitefish varsity volleyball goes 1-2
Whitefish went 1-2 in volleyball action against teams from the Bitterroot last week.
The Lady Dogs opened with a nice 3-1 victory at Stevensville on Thursday, winning 25-14, 25-16, 23-25, 25-19.
Senior Allie Schulz had three aces, nine kills, 49 assists and a few stuff blocks to lead the way. Kate Doorn added 14 kills and Ellie Dewan picked up 17 digs.
On Saturday, Whitefish dropped a match to Corvallis 25-12, 25-23, 25-17 and then lost 24-26, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18 to Hamilton.
“It was a lot of volleyball today but I don’t think our kids played up to par,” Whitefish coach Jackie Fuller said.
Cailyn Ross led the way with 11 kills against the Blue Devils and added three blocks.
Schulz stuffed the stat sheet against Hamilton, recording 13 kills, 17 assists and four aces – all team highs.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do,” Fuller said. “We’ll get in the gym on Monday and begin working harder to get better and better every day.”
