The Whitefish boys took a tough 5-1 loss at home against Libby in Northwest A action on Thursday.

Whitefish’s lone goal came on a penalty kick from Walter Sobba at the 24 minute mark.

Libby’s Cory Wood had a hat trick to lead the Loggers to the victory.

The Dogs couldn’t bounce back on Saturday at Corvallis as the defending state champs rolled by Whitefish 9-0.

Whitefish could only manage a single shot on goal in the lopsided match.

To make matters worse, Whitefish lost keeper Sam Benkelman to a leg injury early in the match while making a save.

“They were certainly the stronger and more aggressive team,” Whitefish coach John Lacey said of Corvallis.
