Voting for Hildner and Sweeney

John Muhlfeld, Richard Hildner and Frank Sweeney have earned my respect as mayor and city councilors. I’ll be voting for their re-election. Here’s why:

The city gets things done, and the community is thriving. Business is strong, people want to live here and Whitefish maintains its unique character. The city’s bold leadership this year to conserve our water source and recreational access in Haskill Basin will be applauded by generations to come.

I’ve attended many council meetings and have observed that Muhlfeld, Hildner and Sweeney are typically pragmatic, well-informed and non-ideological. Councilors often split their votes on issues after thoughtful debate, but there are no factions.

City business is carried out in the full light of day. A good example is the City Hall decision. City Hall decisions have been subject to years of discussion and hearings, transparent review, and strong support from the downtown business community. It’s great to see progress finally being made to replace a decrepit building while expanding downtown parking.

If you think Whitefish is a special place, please join me in re-electing some of the people who are keeping it that way.
