Whitefish Police calls from Nov. 16-22

Monday, Nov. 16

5:50 p.m. Dogs tried to bite a child outside of a restaurant on Second Street. The dogs were not tied up.

9:25 p.m. A Colorado Avenue resident reported someone putting gluten-type food in front of her home. The resident said she has a hard time breathing around bread. She had surveillance footage to show police.

Tuesday, Nov. 17

8:26 a.m. A resident moving from a home on Spokane Avenue reported a tent and three iPods stolen.

10:11 p.m. A disorderly man downtown was being restrained by four security workers until police arrived. The man reportedly punched one security worker.

Wednesday, Nov. 18

12:36 a.m. An extremely intoxicated man told police that he was punched in the face by security workers at a downtown bar. Police notified the man that he was on probation and that he could file a report when he sobers up.

2:30 a.m. Report of a possible burglary on Kalispell Avenue. A suspect was later arrested.

3:18 p.m. A stop sign was turned the wrong way on Pine Avenue.

3:57 p.m. Report of a transient that keeps hanging out at a lobby for hours. He wasn’t causing trouble, but was scaring the customers.

Thursday, Nov. 19

1:48 p.m. Report of a woman on Highway 40 holding a sign that read “I need a miracle.”

10:40 p.m. A caller on Waverly Place confronted a neighbor about loud music. A gun reportedly fell out of the neighbor’s pocket while they were speaking. The caller ran away and told his girlfriend to hide in the bathtub. Police investigated and found that no actual crime was committed. The music was turned down.

Friday, Nov. 20

12:44 p.m. Report of theft from a storage unit on Baker Avenue.

2:16 p.m. Report a traffic safety issue near the new city hall site. The caller said the intersection needed to be signed for pedestrians at night. Public works was advised.

3:31 p.m. A disorderly woman was lying across the sidewalk on Dakota Avenue and causing a scene.

Saturday, Nov. 21

1:11 p.m. A caller said his son opened the car door and accidentally hit another car. The other driver was making a big deal about it.

3:10 p.m. Report of someone hunting geese along the Whitefish River in the city limits.

Sunday, Nov. 22

2:34 a.m. Report of a stolen vehicle on Spokane Avenue.

5:20 a.m. A shirtless man was walking down the middle of the highway trying to flag down traffic.

8:20 a.m. Report of hunters along Monegan Road.
