Ski swap not possible without volunteer help
Greetings from Big Mountain Ski Club! If you were one of the many, many fabulous people to have graced us with your presence as a consignor, a customer, or just a friendly face stopping to say hi at our annual ski sale and swap last week, we would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you! Without you our ski swap is not possible.
The many incredible volunteers that return year after year to help us check in consignments on Friday, including Sportsman & Ski Haus, Runner Up Sports, The White Room, Tamarack Ski Shop, Glacier Cyclery, and Cameron Blake bring expertise that is unparalleled. The friendly faces that hosted the tables set up by The Flathead Valley Ski Foundation, DREAM, Glacier Nordic, Whitefish Mountain Resort, and Soroptomist (Flossie Fletcher) helped us create a “one stop shopping” experience for education, awareness and getting your annual ski passes for the season. The Wave aquatic and fitness center, very graciously, hosted the ski swap in their beautiful facility once again, which we appreciate immensely. From setup on Thursday, with the help of JD Thinning (Jimmy and Bria Deats) to tear down on Sunday, we consider our BMSC family truly lucky and blessed to be loved by so many.
We are extremely pleased to announce that the ski swap brought in close to $40,000, and after paying back our fabulous consignors, we are able to put the net amount back into the community in the form of free ski lessons for gradeschool children, scholarships and a portion donated back to other charitable Whitefish organizations.
If you’ve never been, we encourage you to come out to the ski swap next year, it’s an event not to be missed. Here’s to a fabulous ski season….Is that snow we see up yonder?
