Police calls: Another rash of car break-ins

Whitefish Police calls Nov. 9-15.

Monday, Nov. 9

9:28 a.m. Tools were stolen from a vehicle on Fairway Drive.

2:53 p.m. Report of an elderly driver in a Subaru involved in a hit-and-run on Central Avenue.

Tuesday, Nov. 10

9:34 a.m. Report of a trailer stolen from a field behind a house on West 9th Street.

1:03 p.m. A man called police to turn himself in for a warrant. Police advised the man he wasn’t wanted for a warrant.

4:03 p.m. A young child at the playground was relieving himself next to a tree when three juvenile boys were seen recording him. Police tracked down the suspects and found that no video was taken. They were counseled.

Wednesday, Nov. 11

10:57 a.m. Report of a student who walked away from school. The child was later located.

3:20 p.m. Report of a man who threatened to slit a nurse’s throat at a facility on East 7th Street. A knife was confiscated from the man and he was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

5:22 p.m. A driver reported a pedestrian at an intersection who hit his car and tried to open the door.

Thursday, Nov. 12

8:16 a.m. A business on Highway 93 South reported receiving a counterfeit bill.

9:29 p.m. Report of a violent woman who was being evicted from a residence on Dakota Avenue. She was reportedly hitting and biting people.

Friday, Nov. 13

8:01 a.m. Report of a vehicle break-in on O’Brien Avenue. Sunglasses, a flashlight and change was missing.

9:01 a.m. Report of vehicle break-ins on Spokane Avenue and Sawtooth Drive.

Saturday, Nov. 14

12:04 a.m. Police spoke with a man picking up a group of wives who were out for Ladies Night.

2:45 a.m. Report of a man passed out in an alley downtown.

11:47 p.m. A Green Place resident found one of the apple trees on his property cut down. The homeowner’s association may have cut down the tree due to nuisance bears.

Sunday, Nov. 15

11:28 a.m. Report of three vehicle break-ins on East Lakeshore Drive. Nothing was missing.

3:41 p.m. An unlocked vehicle was ransacked on Houston Point Drive. A wallet was missing.

6:02 p.m. An East 4th Street resident was working in the garage, went inside for 10 minutes and came back out to find his tools stolen.
