Vendors sought for indoor winter market
The Whitefish Parks and Recreation Department is looking to start a winter market and wants to find vendors who might want to participate.
Liz Record, with the parks department, said the idea is to create a market where local food, arts and crafts can be sold in the indoor space at the Roy Duff Memorial Armory.
“Right now we’re looking at a one-time event, but if we get good feedback we might do a few more,” she said. “It’s a great space for the community to come together.”
The department is looking for about a dozen vendors to participate in a December market that would likely be held on a Tuesday evening. The first market would likely be centered around the holidays, but others could be held in the spring offering the chance for early produce.
“We want to see what the interest level is and then we will pick an official date,” she said.
Record said the winter market will be similar to the summer downtown Farmers Market. The booths will be rented in the same format with a $1 booth fee and 5 percent of gross sales for the day.
