Per Montana’s Constitution, every 10 years the question of government review and possible change is placed on our ballots.

This affords us, as citizens, the ability to review the forms of government through which we govern ourselves. In recent elections, Columbia Falls and Whitefish voters passed these resolutions.

For the past four months, Whitefish’s Governmental Study Commission has been holding public meetings. These meetings are held every second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 4 p.m. at the Whitefish City Hall.

These are public noticed. There shall be larger public hearings for all interested, posted at a later date, as well.

We are writing this letter, to encourage everyone and anyone interested to attend.

We hope our friends and neighbors are willing to participate in our process, express their comments, concerns, and hopes.
