The Whitefish School District is holding a public input meeting as it searches for a new superintendent.

Superintendent Kate Orozco resigned last month after four years leading the district. She will finish out the school year, which is the end of her contract.

The school board will host the community meeting on Wednesday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center at the middle school.

“We want to get community members input,” board chair Pat Jarvi said. “We want to hear about what is going well in the district and what concerns people have.”

The superintendent search process will be explained and the public will be given the opportunity to provide comments on the qualities it would like for a new superintendent.

Northwest Leadership Associates, which is working with the school district, will also be in attendance at the meeting. The consultant firm assists school districts in recruiting, screening and selecting new superintendents.
