Two candidates so far have decided to run for a pair of open seats on the Whitefish School Board as the March 26 filing deadline approaches.

Board chair Pat Jarvi has turned in her application for re-election. Bob Auerbach also has entered the election.

District clerk Danelle Reisch says a few petitions have yet to be returned.

Two three-year terms are open in Whitefish. The terms of Jarvi and trustee Shawn Tucker expire in May.

Trustee elections will be May 5.

Prospective candidates must be registered voters living for at least a year in the school district they wish to serve.

Nominating petitions are available in the district office, 600 E. Second St., Whitefish. Paperwork should be turned in to the district clerk by noon March 26. For more information call 862-8643.
