Judith Carpenter Stenger

Judith Carpenter Stenger (Jude) of Whitefish died March 20, 2015 at her home. She was born in Pomona, Calif. on Nov. 10, 1946. She moved from West Palm Beach, Fla. to Whitefish in 1978.

Her favorite things were the poetry of Emily Dickinson, the paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe, creating a beautiful home, watching her grandchildren play sports, caring for her backyard birds, tending to her plants and flowers and traveling with her closest friends.

She cared deeply for the environment and loved Montana, but her greatest love and pride was for her son, Greg, and her grandchildren, Gabrielle, Grant and Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her father, James B. Carpenter, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Greg Stenger and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Gabrielle and her husband Jordan Mueller, Grant and Morgan Stenger, all of Columbia Falls. Her mother, Evelyn M. Glover, of Henderson, Ky; stepfather, Bobby J. Poole, of Redlands, Calif.; sister, Rochelle Henderson, of Creed, Colo.; aunt, Dorothy Bickford and cousin, Kenneth B. Bickford, of Battle Creek, Mich.; and her companion and best friend, Stuart Williams, Jr.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Austin Funeral Home.
