Police calls: Suspicious hooting

Monday, Feb. 23
8:46 a.m. Someone called police and asked “Are you gay” or “Are you deaf” then hung up.
10:39 a.m. Report of graffiti on a Central Avenue church.
5:04 p.m. A dog was abandoned at the dog park. It was taken to the police station.
11:11 p.m. A man on Hazel Place was heard yelling and swearing on an open phone line.
Tuesday, Feb. 24
9:22 a.m. Report of an agitated woman who assaulted a cook at a downtown restaurant.
12:25 p.m. A woman wanted to report damage to her vehicle but didn’t know when, how, where or who did the damage.
2:10 p.m. A man got out of his vehicle and threw his keys across a parking lot on River Lakes Parkway. It seemed suspicious.
9:58 p.m. A woman on Monterra Avenue reported someone hooting outside her door. She didn’t see a person, just a shadow, but was adamant there was a person outside. Police investigated and found a real owl hooting. The woman said she would go to bed.
Wednesday, Feb. 25
1:17 a.m. Report of men arguing at a store on U.S. 93 South. One man threw a bottle at a wall.
10:52 a.m. A man was arrested for shoplifting at a store on U.S. 93 South.
7:58 p.m. A Park Avenue resident came home to find a stranger in her kitchen.
Friday, Feb. 27
12:07 a.m. Gardening tools were reported missing from a shed on Baker Avenue.
11:13 a.m. A woman was seen stepping into traffic on Baker Avenue. She told police she was doing her part to slow down traffic and was looking for her dog.
12:02 p.m. A man and his dog were sitting in a truck parked on U.S. 93 South. It seemed suspicious.
4:52 p.m. Report of thick smoke coming from a Park Avenue building. It was burned food.
Sunday, March 1
4:38 p.m. Report of a wallet stolen from the bathroom of a downtown bar.
11:23 a.m. Report of a physical disturbance on U.S. 93 West.
