Barbara S. Scholz

Barbara S. Scholz, 77, passed away peacefully June 12, 2015 in Whitefish.

Barbara was born in Bridgeport, Conn., in 1938 to Albert and Anna Peterson, and was the youngest of 13 children.

She met her husband Raymond (of 19 years) in Stratford, Conn. Shortly after they married they moved to Montana, where she enjoyed many crafts such as crocheting.

She also loved doing puzzles and has many of them framed and hanging in the Veterans Home in Columbia Falls. Barbara was also a part of The American Legion, as well as was 2015’s Whitefish Winter Carnival Queen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna May Peterson, Albert B. Peterson; husband, Raymond T. Scholz; five sisters and six brothers. She is survived by her brother, Frank (Emma) Peterson, of Port Angeles, Wash.; dozens of nieces and nephews; and her son, Steve (Leonora) D’Amico of Bridgeport, Conn., who was the love of her life and spoke of him daily.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 25 at 2 p.m. at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
