Four candidates vie for council vacancy
Four candidates are vying to fill a vacancy on the Whitefish City Council.
Sarah Fitzgerald, Sarah Lundstrum, Life Noell and John Repke have applied for the spot. Council will interview the candidates Monday to fill the opening left when Councilor John Anderson resigned earlier this month.
Fitzgerald served on Council from 2000 to 2004.
Lundstrum works for the National Parks Conservation Association and has served on the city’s ice rink advisory committee.
Noell campaigned unsuccessfully for city council in 2011 and again in 2013. He has served on the city weed advisory committee and the Whitefish Park Board.
The appointed councilor will serve through the end of the year, which was the end of Anderson’s term.
Council is interviewing the candidates Monday, June 15 at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall. It is expected to make a decision during its regular meeting beginning at 7:10 p.m.
