Police calls: Downtown fight brewing with 'Jesus people'

Monday, July 13
10:18 a.m. A Fox Farm Drive resident complained about the noise from someone using a high pitched tool.
10:40 a.m. Report of a green bicycle stolen from East 2nd Street.
2:08 p.m. A caller on Skyles Place reported that her kids were sleeping in a tent in their backyard along with their 100-pound dog, when an unknown man tried to enter the tent. The dog started barking and the man shouted “oh crap!” and left.
2:26 p.m. Report of a dog being aggressive with a cat on Wisconsin Avenue.
3:18 p.m. Auto parts and tires were stolen from a shop on U.S. 93 South.
3:56 p.m. An O’Brien Avenue resident was upset about the traffic backed up due to the Baker Avenue bridge being closed.
4:54 p.m. A caller reported traffic backed up in front of Safeway.
5:21 p.m. A dog reportedly bit a child at an apartment on Colorado Avenue.
11:39 p.m. No taxi service was available for two tourists staying on Big Mountain. They had attempted to get a ride for 45 minutes, but the taxi services said they were too busy.
Tuesday, July 14
9:49 a.m. A transient was sleeping in a hammock between a dumpster and a staircase downtown.
12:30 p.m. A man was caught shoplifting at a grocery store on U.S. 93 South. He returned the merchandise and was let go.
4:53 p.m. Golf clubs were stolen from a vehicle parked downtown.
Wednesday, July 15
8:02 a.m. A small amount of cash was stolen from a vehicle on Karrow Avenue.
2:57 p.m. Cash and a cell phone were stolen from a pickup on Lupfer Avenue.
9:18 p.m. A man claimed that a portrait his daughter painted was stolen by a neighbor. He couldn’t put a dollar value on the painting.
Thursday, July 16
12:39 a.m. Two people were arrested following a report of a burglary on Dakota Avenue.
12:56 a.m. A woman downtown said her ex threatened to kill her and said she was “going to die in a ring of fire.” She was advised about how to get a restraining order.
11:32 p.m. Report of a fight between roommates on Lakeside Blvd.
11:37 p.m. A hot rod hit the corner of a church on River Lakes Parkway.
Friday, July 17
4:31 p.m. A possible drug deal was going down at a parking lot on U.S. 93 South.
4:56 p.m. A boat was stranded in the middle of Whitefish Lake.
Saturday, July 18
1:12 a.m. Officers were called to talk with a group of tall men who refused to leave a downtown bar.
8:33 a.m. Report of a mountain lion on Carver Bay Road.
11:18 p.m. Report of a large group of “Jesus people” downtown shouting at others that they are “going to burn in hell.” It appeared a fight was about to start.
Sunday, July 19
2:32 a.m. Report of a rowdy bachelorette party on U.S. 93 West.
11:28 a.m. Report of $600 worth of Canadian dollars stolen from a vehicle on Birch Point Drive.
12:51 p.m. A child was reported missing after he sneaked out a bedroom window while he was supposed to be napping. A neighbor found the child.
6:13 p.m. Report of people shooting bottle rockets on Haugen Heights.
11 p.m. Someone on Haugen Heights was beating a drum outside.
