| January 20, 2015 9:00 PM

Robert “Bob” Mason O’Neil, of Whitefish, passed away on Jan. 14, 2015, one week shy of his 81st birthday.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Marcia Dennis O’Neil; his daughter, Holly and husband Keith Turley, of Sturbridge, Mass.; his son, Robert Jr. and wife Christy, of Whitefish; four beloved grandsons, Robert, David, and Andrew Turley and Mason O’Neil; dear family friend, Nikky Singh and her family, of Waterville, Maine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was born and raised in Seattle where he worked for Merrill Lynch. In 1962 he transferred to Paris, bringing nothing but his ski poles, where he met his future wife, Marcia. They eventually settled in Wellesley, Mass., where they raised Holly and Rob.

Following a 40 year career in the brokerage business, Bob retired as senior vice president of Shearson Lehman Bros.

He and Marcia moved to Whitefish in 2007 where Bob loved to ski at Big Mountain. He recently attached his 2014-2015 ski pass to his jacket.

Besides being an accomplished skier, Bob was a talented wood carver, crossword puzzle solver and gardener. He enjoyed traveling and took many trips to Africa. He also loved music and Boston sports. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and poodles.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Whitefish Legacy Partners.
