Trust of Public Land names new director
The Trust for Public Land has announced Dick Dolan as its Northern Rockies Director.
Dolan will oversee work for TPL in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. This includes work on the Haskill Basin easement in Whitefish and work on the Story Mill Community Park in Bozeman and Astoria Hot Springs in Jackson, Wyo.
“I am thrilled to be joining The Trust for Public Land’s Northern Rockies team at such an exciting time,” Dolan said in a prepared release. “Our partnerships in communities like Bozeman, Whitefish and Jackson will add signature projects to a terrific legacy of more than 700,000 acres of working forests, ranch and farm land, city parks, trails, and wild lands across the region. I’m committed to continuing to focus on places people care about in our communities.”
Dolan was most recently the managing director for the American Prairie Reserve. He also worked as an attorney at the Bozeman law firm of Goetz, Gallik, Baldwin and Dolan, where he was a partner for 10 years, and then served as program director for the Greater Yellowstone Coalition.
He is originally from Billings and holds a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Oregon.
