Lady Dogs No. 5 seed at divisional
The Whitefish girls basketball team enters the Northwest A divisional tournament this week as the No. 5 seed.
The Lady Dogs open play in Whitefish on Thursday when they face No. 4 Polson at 7:30 p.m. The winner moves on to play No. 1 Columbia Falls on Friday night.
Whitefish (0-8, 2-16) is fresh off a tough 44-38 loss at Polson (2-6, 3-15) on Saturday night.
The Lady Dogs led 10-6 after one period, but Polson turned it up in the second to take a 21-15 lead into the break.
Polson extended the lead to double digits in the third. Whitefish rallied in the final period with 16 points, but it wasn’t enough.
Freshman Dani Douglas dropped 11 points to lead Whitefish in the effort.
A Northwest A divisional games are at the Whitefish High School gym.
No. 2 Frenchtown and No. 3 Libby square off in the other divisional game.
