New townhouses planned for Edgewood Place
A new townhouse project is proposed for undeveloped land on Edgewood Place in Whitefish.
Developer Benjamin Davis, of Timberlane Real Estate, is requesting a conditional use permit to construct four two-unit condominium buildings at 722 Edgewood Place. The property is adjacent to the city bike path between Edgewood Place and BNSF Railway property.
The 0.77 acre site is zoned WR-4 for high density multi-family residential.
The Whitefish Planning Department is recommending approval of the permit. The City Planning Board will review the project on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
No conceptual building elevations have been submitted to the city as the developer is still working on the design.
The developers are proposing a paved driveway that will serve all the townhomes. Each unit will have a single car garage with a parking space in each driveway.
The project will generate about 80 vehicle trips per day when fully built out. The city planning department says the existing roadway will be able to handle the additional traffic.
One neighbor to the project has cited concerns about the project’s impact on the neighborhood and expanding higher density east of the high density along Colorado Avenue.
