Bulldogs winless at Tip Off

Whitefish took three nonconference losses last week as the team continues to search for chemistry on a roster of new faces.

Following a tough 67-28 loss to Bigfork at home on Dec. 8, the Bulldogs dropped a pair of contests at the Northwest Southwest Tip Off Touranament in Missoula at the University of Montana Adams Center.

Whitefish fell to Stevensville 74-48 in the tourney opener. Junior scorer Derek Kastella led the Dogs with 19 points on 11 shots. He went 6 for 8 from the charity stripe. James Sampson finished with seven points and five rebounds.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs let a fourth-quarter lead slip away in a 50-42 loss to Corvallis. The Blue Devils outscored Whitefish 21-8 in the final frame to rally for the victory.

Sawyer Silliker had a strong outting with eight points and six rebounds. Kastella led Whitefish with 12 points.

The boys next play at Flathead High School on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
