Police calls: Dispute over TV remote gets physical
Monday, Nov. 30
11:27 a.m. A Dakota Avenue resident reported his mailboxes smashed with a bat. Several other mailboxes on the street were smashed, as well.
4:09 p.m. A caller was concerned about a dilapidated building on Baker Avenue.
9:49 p.m. A boy ran away from home after he was caught smoking marijuana with his friends in his room. He returned home safely later in the evening.
Tuesday, Dec. 1
2:44 p.m. A man reported that his gun was stolen in 2012.
6:23 p.m. Two men high on meth were causing a disturbance in the hospital. One man said the other broke a needle off in his arm. One of the men was reportedly on parole.
Wednesday, Dec. 2
3:09 a.m. Report of loud banging noises coming from inside a vehicle parked near Highway 93 South.
12:49 p.m. A full-size pickup was parked in a compact space on Baker Avenue. Snow plows were having trouble getting by the vehicle.
4:01 p.m. A freight train was blocking the railroad crossing for more than 30 minutes. BNSF Railway was advised.
4:48 p.m. Law enforcement was requested at the hospital for a man who overdosed on meth.
5:01 p.m. A man wanted his intoxicated girlfriend removed from an apartment on Colorado Avenue.
8:26 p.m. Report of a physical disturbance on West 2nd Street involving a dispute over the TV remote control. A man allegedly pushed his wife.
11:29 p.m. Report of a man on Crestwood Drive being Tased by two unknown people. They were reportedly trying to take the man’s wallet.
Thursday, Dec. 3
11:51 a.m. A bank teller reported receiving a love note from a suspicious person who may have also followed her home. The employee was advised to have the man trespassed from the business if the problem continues.
3:52 p.m. Report of an elderly man who was evicted from his apartment. The caller was concerned about where the man would sleep in the cold weather.
7:31 p.m. Boys on the roof of a downtown business were throwing snowballs at pedestrians and vehicles.
Friday, Dec. 4
11:27 p.m. Report of men fighting outside of a downtown bar.
Saturday, Dec. 5
1:55 a.m. A man downtown found an intoxicated woman sleeping in the back seat of his car. He asked her to get out. As he pulled away, she laid down in the middle of the parking lot.
11 a.m. A caller was concerned about the welfare of a transient with PTSD.
Sunday, Dec. 6
10:08 a.m. A large truck ran over a tree on West 2nd Street.
12:52 p.m. Report of a handgun stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Mill Avenue. The caller told police she didn’t think it was necessary to lock her vehicle in her own driveway.
2:43 p.m. A Shady River Court resident found a man walking around in his yard. It appeared the man was high on something.
2:53 p.m. An unlocked vehicle was broken into on Suncrest Drive.
7:25 p.m. A driver suspected he was being followed by an SUV.
9:19 p.m. Report of a man head-butting and kicking the front door of a downtown bar. He had one shot then became belligerent.
9:45 p.m. A transient at an Edgewood home refused to leave. The man said he had slept on the street the previous night and didn’t know where to go.
11:01 p.m. Report of a vehicle break-in on East Lakeshore Drive.
