Police calls: Bear trapped inside Iron Horse bedroom

Monday, July 27

6:42 a.m. A man was sleeping under the Columbia Avenue bridge.

7:19 a.m. Someone tried to enter a home on Wedgewood Lane by tearing out a window screen. Vehicles were gone through, as well.

6:07 p.m. A man passed out in an alley behind Columbia Avenue was arrested for a warrant.

10:42 p.m. Report of a verbal disturbance on Creek View Drive.

Tuesday, July 28

1:55 a.m. Suspects in a red car were reportedly trying to break into vehicles on Aspen Court.

9:19 a.m. Report of suspicious men making a video at the skatepark. They told police they were professional skaters traveling the U.S. visiting skateparks and blogging about the experience. Skatepark staff determined there was nothing to be concerned about.

9:52 a.m. A case of CDs was stolen from a vehicle on Dakota Avenue.

10:26 a.m. An iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Dakota Avenue.

4:10 p.m. A North Face jacket, $40 cash and car keys were stolen from a vehicle on Labrie Drive.

6:18 p.m. Report of a stolen mountain bike on Iowa Avenue.

9:53 p.m. Report of a verbal disturbance on West 3rd Street. The parties were separated for the night.

10:42 p.m. A boat was racing around Monks Bay playing loud music.

11:34 p.m. Police used a taser on a man near Lupfer Avenue. He was reportedly yelling at a woman and beating on his car.

Wednesday, July 29

2 a.m. A man at the hospital was screaming and punching the wall. He was emotional about his sister overdosing.

9:01 a.m. Two tires were slashed on a small pickup parked on Pine Avenue.

12:13 p.m. A packet possibly containing drugs was found in a hotel room on U.S. 93 South. The guest had been acting irrational the past few days.

1:09 p.m. $10 in change was stolen from a vehicle on Dakota Avenue. The homeowner had video footage of the incident, but due to poor lighting he couldn’t provide a description of the suspect. Extra patrol was requested for the area.

1:26 p.m. A woman walking her small dog alleged three vicious dogs tried to attack her through a fence at a home on Geddes Avenue. She said the homeowner told her to walk somewhere else if she didn’t want the dogs to attack her. Police found the fence containing the dogs to be secure.

2:06 p.m. An iPad was stolen from West Lakeshore Drive.

Thursday, July 30

11:10 a.m. A caller on Woodland Place complained about neighbors smoking marijuana and the smoke coming into the apartment.

1:23 p.m. An unlocked vehicle was broken into on Railway Street. It was the second time in a week this happened.

5:14 p.m. Someone tried to use counterfeit dollars at a Baker Avenue casino.

9:12 p.m. Report of fireworks in Iron Horse.

9:13 p.m. A transient was sleeping in the Post Office.

11:08 p.m. A man told police that someone broke a beer bottle in an alley on East First Street.

Friday, July 31

3:48 p.m. A man was yelling at a woman standing in a parking space at City Beach trying to hold the spot.

7:49 p.m. Report of a man and woman in a verbal dispute on Cedar Avenue.

8:20 p.m. Report of a young boy running around unattended in a parking lot on Highway 93 South.

Saturday, Aug. 1

1:05 a.m. Report of a man passed out under the guard rail on the viaduct. He told police he was just napping.

1:45 a.m. Police received multiple complaints about noise coming from the lake.

1:59 a.m. Someone reportedly jumped off the bridge at West Second Street.

4:42 a.m. A caller complained about music coming from a downtown bar.

5:23 a.m. A bear was inside a home on North Shooting Star Circle. The homeowners were able to get the bear out of the house.

12:59 p.m. A group of teens ran through a yard on Colorado Avenue and attempted to take a child’s toy. A dog barked at the teens and they took off running.

4:01 p.m. Report of a black bear on West Lakeshore Drive.

7:45 p.m. Report of transients trying to sell drugs at a park. One of the men had a moonshine bottle tattooed on his face.

8:33 p.m. A boat was playing loud music near Birch Point Drive.

9:02 p.m. Report of two people with signs yelling at people downtown. Police told the men to keep it within reason.

10:26 p.m. A man was being restrained by bouncers at a downtown bar. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.

11:53 p.m. Report of a loud party on Birch Point Drive.

Sunday, Aug. 2

10:20 a.m. Report of burglary at a Columbia Avenue home.

11:53 a.m. Report of a transient harassing a woman at a downtown store.

8:32 p.m. Three men were fighting with one man on Central Avenue.

9:33 p.m. Report of two men on O’Brien Avenue restraining a boy suspected of theft. The boy was arrested.

10:05 p.m. Report of theft from a vehicle on O’Brien Avenue.

12:43 a.m. Report of a fight on the bike path near Riverside Park.
