Whitefish woman admits to driving high on meth with child in car
A Whitefish woman has admitted to driving while on a two-day methamphetamine bender with her 4-year-old daughter in the vehicle.
As part of a plea agreement, Loni Kathleen Greer, 30, pleaded guilty April 2 in Flathead District Court to amended charges of felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs.
She originally pleaded not guilty in October of 2013 to charges of criminal child endangerment and criminal endangerment.
According to court documents, Greer called Whitefish Police on Sept. 30, 2013 to report someone following her and attempting to take her child.
A short time later, an employee at the Grizzly Den Bar in Whitefish called police to report a woman at the bar with a small child on her lap.
According to documents, Greer told police that she had been on a “runner” for two days where she stayed awake continually while snorting and smoking meth. She said that she and a friend used meth and drank Twisted Tea alcoholic beverages as they drove to Havre on Sept. 29, 2013 to pick up her child from her ex-husband.
They continued to drink and use meth while in Havre overnight.
The next day driving home, Greer told police she began to see things, feel weird and that she lost her hearing.
As they approached Columbia Falls, she began to suspect her friend was conspiring to take her child. When she let the friend out of the car, Greer jumped back in the car with her daughter and drove to the bar.
Documents also note Greer failed field sobriety tests.
A sentencing hearing is set for June 4.
