Curt Emory Goble

| September 17, 2014 8:47 AM

Curt Emory Goble, 60, died Sept. 8, 2014.

He was born Feb. 7, 1954, in Columbia Falls and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1973. He was a loyal Bulldog fan to the end. Curt spent some time in Hawaii after graduating and returned to Whitefish which he always considered his home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Goble.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; daughter, Salina; father, Carl; and brothers and sisters, Vonnie, Craig, Jim, Beth, Helen and Keith.

Curt worked at the Whitefish Lake Golf Club for a short time and several years at the Bierstube before he started his career with BNSF Railway. He worked for the railroad for 30 years and left to pursue his lifelong passion — fishing.

He met Marlene in 1976. She was working at the original Place for Steak. He would stop by after work for a beer and some foosball ... He had an awesome bankshot.

His daughter Salina was born in 1992. She added a beautiful new dimension to his life that he embraced and cherished.

Curt was known as someone who was always willing to help. Whether it was working on a car, construction, or just about anything else, he was never more than a phone call away.

Curt loved to fish. He would seize any opportunity — anywhere, anytime. He frequented Duck and Mission Lake on the east side, and would frequently hit Bootjack, Upper Whitefish and too many other lakes to name. He always kept his fishing gear close by and truly loved the time spent with friends by and on the water. He was with one of his many friends fishing at Duck Lake when he died. He was doing what he loved to do and will be missed by all those lucky enough to have known him.

Services were held Sept. 13, at the Whitefish Nazarene Church, followed by a celebration of life at the Whitefish VFW Post 276.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to VFW Post 276 or Trout Unlimited.
