Whitefish Police calls from Sept. 8-15

Monday, Sept. 8

10:06 a.m. A licensed caregiver reported 8 ounces of marijuana stolen from her room.

11:53 p.m. An envelope with $597 inside was found under a table at a restaurant on East 2nd Street.

3:26 p.m. An employee at a hotel said she was slapped by a transient. She didn’t want to press charges, but said the man was making the guests nervous.

5:01 p.m. Report of two men in a maroon SUV pointing a large gun at pedestrians on East 1st Street.

6:27 p.m. Report of a vehicle break-in on Lupfer Avenue. Nothing was missing from the car, but the burglar left behind a flask, sweatshirt and an ID.

7:42 p.m. Report of a domestic dispute on East 1st Street.

9:21 p.m. A Park Avenue resident told police she heard a horse whinny three times. The horse sounded distressed, like it possible had a broken leg or was being chased by a cougar.

10:46 p.m. Someone reportedly tried to use a fake $100 bill at a casino on U.S. 93 South.

Tuesday, Sept. 9

8:09 a.m. Report of a Lupfer Avenue resident throwing food in their yard that attracts noisy crows. A neighbor found this upsetting.

1:47 p.m. A disorderly woman was arrested after reportedly banging on cars on Park Avenue.

Wednesday, Sept. 10

8:55 p.m. People heard yelling and screaming at an apartment on Wisconsin Avenue were just scared of a spider.

9:10 p.m. A man was passed out under a tree on Wisconsin Avenue.

Thursday, Sept. 11

6:06 p.m. A man said his dog was either stolen or jumped out the back of his truck. He said his dog had never left the truck before, so he was pretty sure it was stolen. Another man on the scene reported seeing the dog jump out of the truck.

Friday, Sept. 12

1:24 a.m. Police took a woman to the hospital after she reportedly made threats to shoot and kill her ex-husband.

10:30 a.m. Report of someone smoking pot, cigarettes and drinking a beer on Baker Avenue.

10:50 a.m. Report of stolen prescription drugs on Saint Moritz Drive.

10:53 a.m. Horses were loose on East 2nd Street.

12:03 p.m. Two women with a dog on East 13th Street were holding a sign that read “Need tampons and chocolate.” They were told to move along.

8:05 p.m. A two-year-old child found alone near a coffee stand was taken to the police station. She was later released to her mother.

8:25 p.m. Report of three underage Canadians in skinny jeans that smelled like alcohol.

Saturday, Sept. 13

8:15 a.m. Report of a black bear on Fir Avenue.

9:11 a.m. A bear knocked over a garbage can at a house on Trestle View Court. The homeowner was advised of the bear ordinance.

9:08 p.m. A woman upset after a breakup was yelling outside a house on Greenwood Drive.

Sunday, Sept. 14

1:41 a.m. Report of five gun shots heard on East Lakeshore Drive.

3:02 a.m. Report of fireworks on East 4th Street.

5:41 p.m. Two people were slandering each other on Craigslist. Both were advised on how to obtain a restraining order.

9:57 p.m. Report of an ex-girlfriend that barged into a house on Woodland Place and started yelling and throwing things.

Monday, Sept. 15

3:37 a.m. Report of a large black bear on West 6th Street.
