Plum Creek donation lifts arts and tech wing
The Plum Creek Foundation has donated $10,000 toward construction of the new arts and technology center at Whitefish High School.
The $2.89 million center is expected to open in mid-November. Roughly $2 million has already been raised or pledged toward the project.
“As an important member of our community, Plum Creek’s generous donation will get us closer to our fundraising goal at just the right time,” district superintendent Kate Orozco said.
The facility will accommodate classes in music, media arts and technology, and theater as part of the new Center for Applied Media, Arts & Sciences. All totaled the new area will encompass about 12,000 square feet. It is being touted as a world-class anchor to the new high school that will attract new students and elite teachers to the district.
