Jarvi recognized for school board work
Whitefish School Board trustee Pat Jarvi has been recognized by the Montana School Boards Association in Billings for her commitment to educational leadership.
Jarvi was one of 10 trustees statewide selected as a Marvin Heintz Award recipient.
The award goes to trustees who have accumulated 96 hours of training in the School Board Academy trustee certification program. Trustees must have received the equivalent of eight years certification or 96 hours of training in less than eight years, whichever comes first.
“These local leaders have looked at important issues like the roles and responsibilities of school boards, how laws passed by our legislature impacts local districts, and how important leadership is for improving student achievement,” said Lance Melton, MTSBA executive director. “We know that the communities and local districts in which these leaders serve will join us in saying thank you and recognizing their dedication to K-12 public education.”
