Whitefish simply took care of business Friday in thumping outmatched Park High 52-15 for a non-conference win Saturday at home.

The Bulldogs scored early and often, and had no problem shutting down the Rangers’ running attack in the blowout victory.

Whitefish (5-2, 2-0) posted 42 unanswered points to set the continuous “mercy clock” in motion early in the third quarter. Park had zero yards of total offense after half time.

Whitefish coach Chad Ross credited his line for controlling the game.

“Our guys controlled the line of scrimmage,” Ross said. “They’re getting so much better every game.”

The Dogs’ quick opening drive was capped when Jed Nagler hauled in an impressive 39-yard bomb from Luke May.

Chris Park went 20 yards untouched into the end zone for the Dogs’ second touchdown.

May hit Streibich on a 23-yard pass early in the second quarter, Park busted off another TD run, and May connected again with Nagler on a 26-yard route to make the score 35-0 at half.

The Dogs defense recovered a fumble in the end zone on the Rangers’ opening drive in the second half to continue the romp.

Whitefish’s second unit played most of the third and fourth quarters as the starters took a well-deserved rest.

May finished the game 10 for 16 with 193 yards passing and three touchdowns.

Six runners combined to rack up 198 rushing yards for the Dogs.

Nagler finished with 92 yards receiving on five receptions.

Logan Wynn picked off a pass, and the Dogs defense held Park to a single completion.

“When you add up all the great individual performances, it makes for a great team performance,” Ross said.

The win puts Whitefish in position to wrap up the Northwest A title next Friday at Frenchtown.

“From the beginning we never talked about winning every game, but one of our goals was to win the conference,” Ross said. “Individually and collectively, we’ve focused on getting better every week. And they’ve done that.”
