Bulldogs run to second, third at invite
Whitefish was second on the girls side and third in the boys standings last week at the Thompson Falls Invitational cross country meet.
“Our girls did a great job today,” Whitefish coach Sarah Brist said.
“They packed well in the race and showed a tremendous amount of improvement as a team,” she continued. “Barrett Gray and Peyton Twete did an excellent job of leading the team.”
Barrett Gray lead the Lady Bulldogs with a seventh place finish, clocking time of 20:33. Peyton Twete and Sarah Perez, took the 12th and 13th places, respectively. Annika Gordon came in 15th.
“We are where we want to be (at this point of) the season and looking forward to our next meet on our home course Oct. 11.”
Leading the Bulldog boys was Keaton Grove, who finished in fifth with a time of 17:01. Ethan Potthoff was seventh, followed by Ethan Lannagham at 11th.
Brist said Grove and Potthoff “had season best races and did an excellent job of leading the team. Our 4-5 runners are coming along nicely.”
