Glacier Nordic memberships available

Glacier Nordic Club is accepting memberships for the winter ski season.

Memberships fund trail grooming at the Glacier Nordic Center located at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course and the Nordic trails on Big Mountain.

Early bird pricing is available until Dec. 6 — $100 for a family and $50 for an individual. Beginning Dec. 7 pricing goes to $110 for a family and $55 for an individual. Either a membership or an $8 day pass is required to ski at the Nordic Center.

Memberships can be purchased online at www.glaciernordicclub.com and at GNC’s annual potluck and auction to be held Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Whitefish. Day passes will be available for purchase at the Glacier Nordic Center.

The Glacier Nordic Club Ski Team is taking registrations for all its junior programs. Prep Team for ages 10–14 is underway with early-season dry-land training. Prep Team meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings through early March. Participants learn and refine classic and skate ski techniques and may choose to race in local and regional races. The cost is $300.

Junior Jets for ages 7–11 runs from Dec. 2 through early March on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Jets learn to skate and classic ski and improve their technique though fun activities and games. The cost is $165.

Chet Hope Youth Ski League for ages 4–12 runs from early January through Feb. 21. Participants learn to classic ski and improve their technique. New this year is a Wednesday option. Participants can choose from Saturday morning and/or Wednesday evening sessions. The cost for each session is $40 for GNC members and $45 for non-members.

The Glacier Nordic Club is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit with the mission of instilling a life-long love of cross-country skiing. Each year over 100 youth participate in its programs and hundreds of community members ski the Nordic course.
