Zinke's character has not wavered

I have known Ryan Zinke for years. I’d like to step outside the political realm and give a picture of the real Ryan.

I handle Ryan’s schedule. Needless to say, we’re extremely busy. When my family decided to have a reunion to celebrate my grandparent’s 60th anniversary, I had no intention of attending. It is right before the primary election.

I recently found out my grandfather’s health is failing. When Ryan heard, he personally insisted I attend. Of course I argued since we are busier than ever right now. It was no use. Ryan reiterated family takes priority over politics.

This campaign has only affirmed my respect for Ryan. He has seen a continuous slew of negative attacks against him, yet his character has not wavered. Ryan, and every other candidate, promised to run a positive campaign.

Unlike others, Ryan has kept his word! Our team has been tempted to wade into the weeds of negative attacks. There have been plenty of opportunities to cut down our fellow Republicans, but Ryan has always reminded us to take the high road no matter how ludicrous the accusation. Ryan’s slogan “More Leadership, Less Politics” is not just catchy words. It’s a promise to Montanans!

Voters needs to know the quality person Ryan is. Disregard the perpetual smears and pay attention to each candidate’s character. I agree with former Montana Secretary of State Bob Brown, I’m supporting real character, not character assassination.
