Cal Scott: Let's keep 'on task'

| May 21, 2014 10:00 PM

Why do I, my family and countless numbers of your fellow citizens firmly believe it is in the best interest of all our Flathead citizens that I be re-elected to protect your future through another term of leadership?

Now we are encountering election campaigning. It is my firm belief that any candidate for public service takes the high road, by limiting campaign distractions and focusing on the many critical issues that affect all of us.

As a responsible leader, I will not condone cluttering our valley with “name recognition” signs, candidate gossip or sleazy attacks on opponents. You, the voters, deserve more credit.

True leadership demonstrates learned wisdom through experience, first-hand knowledge, practiced experience, self-control, respect and a strong sense of duty. A leader encourages people and shines the light on others to become their own best. I believe that a campaign or candidate that shows or allows any lesser quality is not worthy of leadership.

It is important that you, our citizens, do your own candidate research and become confident in learning your experienced commissioners consistently demonstrate sound judgment in managing your county and watching over your taxpayer dollars.

Your Flathead County Management Team has received much recognition for excellence, including its sixth annual Distinguished Budget Award demonstrating your money management, maintaining a healthy cash reserve, while operating with foresight and preparing you for a sound future.

I ask for your vote so your commission may conservatively continue guiding your county’s future by demonstrating firsthand knowledge of countywide duties, documented experience and dedicated service for all our community.

Through open communication and continuing to find wise solutions to our complex challenges, we continue to support our businesses, encourage our industries, inspire job growth, maintain fiscal management, protect our property and water rights, defend your individual rights and work to improve the future well being of you, our citizens. Let’s keep “on task!”

It will be an esteemed honor for me to continue as one of your County Commissioners, encouraging unity by focusing on public service and responsible leadership for you and our beloved Flathead County.

The following documented information may help you know the proven record of related experience and service, to benefit you as your commissioner. Please do visit with me anytime. My personal cell phone number is 406-885-6318 and/or personal e-mail cal@calscott.com

“My commitment of service and leadership to all of our community has been to empower ourselves with current knowledge and wisdom so we all may make truly informed decisions for our future.”
