The Lady Dogs tennis team will surge into the Northwest A divisional tournament after picking up three dual wins last week.

Whitefish knocked off Libby twice, including a 7-0 sweep, and took down Bigfork 5-2 to finish the regular season with an 8-6 overall dual record.

“That was one of our goals, to finish with a winning record,” Whitefish coach Pat Dryden said. “We became a good dual team by the end of the season.”

Sloan Ellis went undefeated in the three duals, as did the doubles duo of Caroline Carbo and Heather Luedke.

Dryden says his team looks ready for the tough competition they’ll face at divisional.

“Things are all coming together,” he said.

Carbo and Luedke are the second seed in doubles behind a team from Polson.

McKenzie Wick and Anna Peterson also should be in the hunt in the doubles bracket, Dryden said.

On the singles side, Simone Craft is seeded No. 3 and Sloan Ellis is No. 4. They’ll both face tough competition as they fight for a ticket to state in Billings.

The tournament begins Thursday at the Flathead Valley Community College courts.
