Grateful for responsible dog owners

While enjoying an afternoon at the WAG park last month, our dog suffered an injury requiring vet care. Initially I assumed my dog was fine, however, a few minutes after the episode I realized the extent of the injury.

By that time the other dog owner had already removed his dog from the park. Since then I have been working on locating the other owner to make him aware of the situation and encourage him to be mindful in the future.

I am very pleased to report that the other owner and I met last week and I am more than impressed with the outcome. When he was brought up to speed on the incident he did not hesitate to step up to the plate and be a responsible owner.

There are so many reasons why Whitefish is such a wonderful place to call home. Our WAG park is testament to how much we appreciate our pets and our environment, but it’s responsible and prudent owners that continue to make a trip to the park a pleasure, even if issues arise.

Shout out also for Dr. Dean Aldrich and staff at Flathead Pet Emergency. It is ironic that sometimes the most unfortunate circumstances result in meeting the nicest people.
