Vernon Thomen

A resident of Libby but a Whitefish native, Vernon Thomen, 79, passed away in a car accident. Vernon was born in Whitefish to Cathern Larter Holien and Calvin Thomen on March 19, 1937.

Vernon enjoyed and loved the country life, he always said “keep it simple.” He loved the woods, lakes and streams. He loved hiking, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed playing cards, and shooting pool. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends.

Both of his parents precede him in death, as well as a nephew, Calvin LaRoque.

Vernon is survived by his children, Ronda Thomen of Great Falls, Robin (Chuck) Solley of Great Falls, and Vernon (Danice) Thomen Jr. of Billings.

He is also survived by his sister, Barbara LaRoque of Olney; and three nephews, Toby LaRoque (Julie) and his family, Charlie LaRoque and his family, and Ben (Angie) LaRoque and his family, all of the Flathead Valley.

Cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time.
