An American flag topped with a bronze eagle went missing last week from Adam Alexander’s home on Geddes Avenue. He wants it returned.

The flag pole represents more than his patriotism — it has sentimental value.

Alexander received the flag pole as a Weapons Officer in the U.S. Navy. He flew over Korea, up the Russian coast and in Vietnam before finally retiring in 1977 after 30 years of service.

He’s offering a reward if someone turns the flag thief into police.

“It means that much to me, Alexander said. “To have somebody do something like that...”

He believes it was stolen sometime April 20-21.

Only one other time in Alexander’s life has he had something stolen.

“I had my girlfriend stolen once,” he joked. “But that’s OK because I ended up with a better girl.”
