Boardwalk kudos

| September 24, 2013 8:42 AM

My name is Micah Sobczak and I would like to thank all the people who helped me in my Eagle Scout project. This project involved construction of a 260-foot long boardwalk along a pond in River’s Edge Park in Columbia Falls, which I completed in early September.

With Plum Creek Foundation money and donations from Western Building Center, I was able to buy all the materials I needed. The city of Columbia Falls, particularly Darin Fisher, supported me greatly in this project and provided the design for the boardwalk.

I also had the help of many friends and scouts from Troop 1941 in Columbia Falls. Together we put in more than 300 hours of volunteer work. I would particularly like to thank Mark Riffey, the scoutmaster for Troop 1941, for helping me all the way through my scouting experience.

It’s a really great addition to a pretty cool park, and you should go down there and check it out. Thanks to everyone for your help.
