Jerome Mulcahy

Jerome (Jerry) Mulcahy, 80, passed peacefully from this life on Aug. 27, 2013.

Jerry was born at home in Chicago, Ill., on Sept. 9, 1932, the youngest of three, to William R. and Emma A. Mulcahy. Jerry left Chicago as a young boy and moved with his family to Hawthorne, Calif.

Jerry proudly served his country during the Korean War and maintained a long standing membership with VFW Post 2075 in Hawthorne.

Shortly after returning from service, Jerry entered his father’s profession as a plumber and was a lifelong member of Plumber’s Union Local 78.

After retiring from Los Angeles Unified School District in 1992, Jerry, along with his wife Penny, moved to Columbia Falls, fulfilling a life-long dream. Once settled in Montana, Jerry established cherished friendships on Martini Lane.

Jerry loved his sports, especially the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking in the majestic beauty of his beloved Montana.

He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife Penny, his parents William and Emma Mulcahy, and his brother Ralph Mulcahy.

Jerry is survived by his four loving children Katherine Paet, Cindy Gardner, Lisa Mulcahy and Jerry Mulcahy, Jr. and wife Jennifer; his stepchildren Michael Fernandez and wife Nancy, Monique Colver and husband Andrew, and Sandra Dee Danielson; his five adored grandchildren, Matthew Paet and wife Tiana, Elisa Paet, Noel Catugal and husband Keoni, Brandon Gardner and Ryan Gardner; his devoted sister Margaret Mary Rose; and many nephews, nieces, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A funeral mass with burial will be performed at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 West Slauson Avenue, Culver City, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013.
