Report of a gun stolen from a home in Martin City that was broken into three weeks earlier. A person said someone had left all their stuff in his shed for several years and wanted to know if he could now get rid of the items.

A problem with frisky feral cats was reported by a Hungry Horse woman, who said the cats kept reproducing under her First St. South East trailer.

A patron at a Ninth St. West bar in Columbia Falls was reported after he was cut off due to smelling like alcohol and then left the bar, by himself, in his vehicle.

A box of Craftsman tools were stolen from a man’s home in Columbia Falls.

A Farm to Market Road man contacted Columbia Falls police after seeing a Facebook post about an alleged kidnapping and realizing the suspect stayed at his house for two days. The caller said he didn’t know at the time that the man was wanted.

Oct. 24

Police stopped a vehicle on Highway 206 after numerous reports of erratic driving. Turned out the driver had a medical condition.

Neil Couillard, 82, of Blackie, Alberta, was arrested and charged with careless driving and DUI after a traffic stop at U.S. 2 and Highway 206. Couillard allegedly told police he’d been drinking at the Dam Town Tavern, in Hungry Horse, and was trying to get back to his motel, the Crooked Tree Inn, which is across the highway from the tavern.

A traveling preacher drew some negative attention while preaching on Hungry Horse Blvd. A man tore up the preacher’s equipment and told him he would kill him if he turned the equipment back on. Another person complained about the volume at which the preacher was playing music.

Columbia Falls police took a report from a woman about obscene phone calls.

Oct. 26

Report of an injured black bear cub in Columbia Falls. The bear eventually wandered off with a sow near Second St. East.

A girl called to say she was receiving threats from her boyfriend in Columbia Falls.

Police responded to a fight on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls. No charges were filed, and the parties were given rides home.
