Bowling benefit

The Columbia Falls Women’s Bowling Association will hold their bowling benefit on Feb. 14-16, 2014. Anyone who knows someone who needs assistance can send letters to C.F.W.B.A. Manager, 903 Scenic Drive, Columbia Falls MT 59912 describing their needs and who they are. Letters are due by Jan. 1.

Chamber golf

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf scramble will take place at Meadow Lake Resort on Thursday, Oct. 10, starting at 3 p.m. Cost is $20, which includes a cart. RSVP by calling Trina Hasson at 892-8729.

Chamber after hours

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly after-hours open house and social event at the Inn at Meadow Lake on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with appetizers and beverages.

Women’s fundraiser

The Columbia Falls Women’s Connection, an affiliate of Stonecroft Ministries, will offer a lunch of homemade soup, bread and pie served on a donation basis along with handicrafts, home-baked items and home-canned jams and jellies for sale at their annual “Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It” fundraiser event at the Teakettle Community Room on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information or to donate, call 892-5990.

Mark 75th anniversary

The Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will celebrate the “The Story Goes On,” the 75th anniversary of Stonecroft Ministries, their parent organization, during their monthly luncheon at the Teakettle Community Room on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pauletta Staley of Boise, Idaho, will be the speaker. City court

Columbia Falls City Court lead clerk Alison Thompson recently attended the State Supreme Court Educational Conference for Court Clerks in Billings where she learned about new legislation, computer date for court financials, motor vehicle forms and verifications, court response to domestic violence cases and other topics. Thompson has been a city court clerk for 13 years.

Harvest dinner

The United Methodist Church, 117 Second Street West, in Columbia Falls, will offer a harvest dinner on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with turkey and all the trimmings and homemade pie. A free-will offering will be taken.

Brown bag lunch

Fred Miller, a safety specialist with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry will talk at the Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce’s brown bag lunch at the Lyle Mitchell State Farm offices on Thursday, Oct. 24, from noon to 1 p.m. The last 30 minutes will be used to download the Safety Writer program from the University of Florida for implementing a safety culture at workplaces.
