Police calls: Another rash of vehicle break-ins

Monday, Sept. 23

10:50 a.m. A child with truancy issues refused to go to school. Police intervened and took the child to school.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

12:05 a.m. A woman arrested on Spokane Avenue was banging her head against the cage in the police car while en route to the hospital for a blood draw.

7:43 a.m. Items were stolen from unlocked vehicles on State Park Road, East 4th Street, Lupfer Avenue, Rivertrail Court, Kalispell Avenue and Columbia Avenue.

9:30 a.m. Report of a mixed pit bull running loose and pooping in a neighbor’s lawn on Somers Avenue. The dog owner told the neighbor there was nothing he could do about it.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

11:37 a.m. Report of a high school student receiving a threatening text message from another student.

5:32 p.m. Kids jumped the fence at Soroptimist Park while it is closed due to construction.

6:20 p.m. The manager of an apartment building on Iowa Avenue reported a burglary in the laundry room.

10:41 p.m. A caller complained about the road work on 93 West telling police it is the most dangerous road there is. It appeared that a vehicle was stuck in the mud and made a mess.

10:50 p.m. A suspicious man with shaggy hair on Baker Avenue appeared to be intoxicated or high on drugs when he offered another person a hot dog. The suspicious man took off on foot when police arrived. He was arrested on Central Avenue.

11:15 p.m. A man on Washington Avenue said his ex-girlfriend punched him and his roommate in the face.

Thursday, Sept. 26

1:40 a.m. An intoxicated man was seen banging on the door of a pizza shop on Spokane Avenue. He appeared to have a rock in his hand. He told police he had a sober ride home.

7:55 a.m. Report of speeding dump trucks on Karrow Avenue. The superintendent of construction asked the drivers to slow down.

8:17 a.m. A couple was working with a jeweler downtown to design a ring. When they decided to switch jewelers the shop reportedly refused to give back their stones.

1:36 p.m. A juvenile was arrested on East 4th Street for drug activity.

5 p.m. A mom reported to police that her 16-year-old son was hit by a car while riding his bike downtown. The driver of the car gave the boy a ride home.

Friday, Sept. 27

12:43 a.m. Two friends were fighting on Waverly Place. One man was covered in blood.

12:35 p.m. Report of a caretaker stealing money from a client and gambling it away.

3:49 p.m. A man found a dog inside his home.

4 p.m. A driver reported $2,000 in damage to her vehicle after a bicyclist ran into her.

4:38 p.m. A woman reported to police that a scary man tried to assault her on Baker Avenue.

10:29 p.m. Kids were in the skatepark after hours.

Saturday, Sept. 28

12:11 a.m. A woman in a white Suburban was taken to the hospital after crashing into a sign and trees on Wisconsin Avenue. Police found the woman unresponsive.

10:47 p.m. A suspicious man jumped a fence on U.S. 93 South and was seen trying to break into vehicles.

Sunday, Sept. 29

1:52 a.m. Neighbors at an apartment complex on Wisconsin Avenue were stomping around and making a lot of noise.

10:15 a.m. It appeared that a bear got into a Dumpster on State Park Road.

6:11 p.m. Police took in a dog that was found running loose at the dog park.
