Young actors wanted for upcoming shows
The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” and “Shakespeare: Next Generation,” two all-kids productions that will be performed early in 2014.
Auditions are for children ages 7 to 14 and will take place at 4 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3. in the multipurpose room at Muldown Elementary School in Whitefish. Students are encouraged to arrive early to fill out an audition application and review the audition selections.
“The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” is C.S. Lewis’ classic tale of love, faith, courage and the triumph of good over evil. This new dramatization by Joseph Robinette recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting land of Narnia.
“Shakespeare: Next Generation” will feature talented area youths applying stylized physical movement and distinctive vocal work to a shortened but captivating version of one of Shakespeare's plays. As a Black Curtain Theatre production, set and costumes are minimal, and actors will remain on book.
The cast of “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” will be made up of 25 to 35 children. The cast of “Shakespeare: Next Generation” will be made up of up to 15 kids.
