Police calls: Burglar gets away with $1 bill
Monday, Nov. 11
10:50 a.m. The sign for City Hall was torn off and hanging very low.
2:18 p.m. A possible burglary was reported on Saint Moritz Drive.
7:04 p.m. A resident regretfully gave her social security number to an unknown person on the phone. She was advised to cancel all her credit cards and notify her bank.
Wednesday, Nov. 13
12:10 p.m. Police spoke with two students at the high school who were caught with cigarettes.
Thursday, Nov. 14
7:06 a.m. Report of a vehicle stuck in the ditch off Edgewood Place.
1:54 p.m. Report of an ex-employee making threats to a business owner on U.S. 93 South.
2:39 p.m. An intoxicated cyclist crashed at a bank on Spokane Avenue.
2:38 p.m. An intoxicated woman was throwing punches at her boyfriend.
Friday, Nov. 15
1:49 p.m. Report of a man who stole $3 worth of items from a convenience store on U.S. 93 South.
3:54 p.m. Report of six teenagers in a truck that was high-centered on a dirt pile near Idaho Avenue. There was some concern the truck could roll backward into a house.
8:53 p.m. Report of a suspicious man trying to break into vehicles parked on Baker Avenue.
Saturday, Nov. 16
12:54 a.m. A large man was left with a bloody face after getting into a fight downtown. He didn’t want to press charges.
8:28 a.m. Report of a vehicle break-in on Riverside Avenue. A $1 bill was stolen.
3:59 p.m. Items were stolen from unlocked vehicles on Columbia Avenue.
6:36 p.m. A woman told police her car key was stuck in the ignition and that she was going to leave the vehicle on the street for the weekend. She put her purse in the back seat and covered it with a tarp. Police told her that items left in an unlocked car may disappear. The woman stated that wouldn’t happen in Whitefish.
10:56 p.m. Report of an intoxicated man who knocked over and broke a fireplace on Central Avenue.
Sunday, Nov. 17
3:14 p.m. Credit card fraud was reported by residents on O’Brien Avenue and Somers Avenue.
